Course Reserves: Request digitzation

The DePaul University Library has migrated its course reserves system from ARES to Leganto. Use this guide to set up your course reserves.

Request digitization

The library will digitize one chapter or 10% of copyrighted books and 10% of copyrighted media for course reserves. The library will digitize copyrighted books and media for fully online courses following the procedures in DePaul's Copyright and Fair Use Policy. 

To request digitization, add the item to your list, then:

  1. Click on Full Details on an item to open it and view Item Actions in the record.
  2. Click Request Digitization within the item under Library Services.
  3. Add the chapter or the page range that you would like digitized.
    • For books, enter the page ranges, if you have them. 
    • For videos, enter the minutes you would like digitized in the page ranges field. 
  4. Click Send to submit your digitization request to the library.
