Retractions, Errata, Corrections, Scientific Misconduct

The acknowledgement of errors or mistakes may appear in database search results as "errata" or "corrections," or else some kind of note or comment that modifies or else retracts previously-published information.

However, publishers' editorial or peer review processes sometimes fail to detect such errors--including cases that have involved research misconduct (e.g. fraud, plagiarism, data fabrication or data misrepresentation).
