Research Posters

Research Posters are a tool for communicating your work visually and are very common in academic settings, particularly at conferences. At a typical poster session, attendees will walk around and view all of the posters, stopping to chat and ask questions of the researcher.

The Basics

  • The John T. Richardson Library has free poster printing for students. Standard poster size is 36"x48".
  • Design your poster using a tool like Canva or Powerpoint.
  • Keep text short and clear and organize your poster to tell a story about your research.
  • Include images alongside the text.
  • Proofread before printing.
