Poster Printing

Users can print posters and large format print jobs by printing to a poster printer from any network computer in the Richardson Library.  The poster printer is located in the Print Center on the second floor.  Choose DePaul Library Plotter when selecting the printer.

Printing PowerPoint Slides/PDF

For PowerPoint: If you wish to print a PowerPoint slide it is recommended to save PowerPoint Slide as 36” (height) by 48” (width) in the Page Setup, located under the Design tab before working on a poster.

Once you complete your project save it as a PDF.  This should insure none of your design will shift or change.

Page Setup - Poster Printer1.  Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat (not Reader). Verify that poster did not get cut off or changed after converting to PDF.
2.  Go to File->Print and choose “DePaul Library Plotter” from the drop down menu.
3.  Next to the printer dropdown click Properties.
4.  Select the “Custom...” button underneath the drop down. Adjust the width to 36” and the height to 48” for standard poster size, or other custom dimension. Name the setting “<Your Initials> Custom” and click Save then OK.

5.  Select appropriate orientation and click OK.  Most posters will use the landscape orientation.
6.  Select Fit under “Size Options” in the print preview popup window.

7.  Select Print.
8.  You can release your print job and print your poster at the Intelliprint station which are labeled Poster Printer .  Swipe your student I.D. at the computer station by the printer. Select the correct file and click Print. Be patient as print job may take several minutes.

 

Printing From Adobe Illustrator

 

1.  When ready to print, select File->Print
2.  Under Printer choose "Depaul Library PLOTTER".
3.  Under the Media Size dropdown choose Custom and make sure the width is set to 36" and the height is set to 48".
4.  If your project is not sized to 36"x48" you may choose how it will be scaled/placed under the Options section.
5.  When finished click Print.
6.  You can release your print job and print your poster, in the Scholar’s Lab, located on the first floor.  Swipe your student I.D. at the computer station by the printer. Select the correct file and click Print. Be patient as print job may take up to 5 minutes.


 

Printing From Adobe Photoshop

 

1.  When ready to print, select File->Print
2.  Under Printer choose "Depaul Library PLOTTER".
3.  Under the Printer dropdown click Print Settings...



4.  Select the “Custom...” button underneath the drop down. Adjust the width to 36” and the height to 48” for standard poster size, or other custom dimension. Name the setting “<Your Initials> Custom” and click Save then OK.


5.  If your document is not sized at 36"x48" you may choose how it will be scaled in the bottom section of the Photoshop Print dialog.
6.  When ready, select Print.
7.  You can release your print job and print your poster, in the Scholar’s Lab, located on the first floor.  Swipe your student I.D. at the computer station by the printer. Select the correct file and click Print. Be patient as print job may take up to 5 minutes.
