Open Access at DePaul
Many of the resources on the DePaul University Library's A-Z database list contain content that is openly accessible.
Click here for a list of Open Access databases offered by DePaul Library. Each database has a brief description describing the subject area and content it contains. You may use the All Subjects drop down list to narrow by discipline.
Finding Open Access materials in DePaul's Library Search is also an option. Open materials are tagged with an orange open lock and the words OPEN ACCESS like this article:
The filters in library search will also allow you to limit your results to open access materials. Apply the Open Access filter under Availability:

- UnpaywallAdd Unpaywall to your browser. It will automatically check if there is an open access version of the article you want. The open access version may be the author's manuscript or a preprint version instead of the final published version.
Open Access Books
- Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB)Find open access academic books on a wide number of topics. From OAPEN Foundation.
- Open Textbook LibrarySearch for free textbooks in your discipline and read reviews of them. The site links to the (external) online version of the textbook and to options for downloading the book. Read, re-use, and adapt the textbooks.

- OAPENThe OAPEN Library contains freely accessible academic books, mainly in the area of Humanities and Social Sciences.

OATP is a crowd-sourced project running on free software to capture new developments on open access to research.
