DePaul Scholars relies on a wide variety of data sources to deliver its content, including:
Google Scholar was designed as a search tool to search for scholarly literature and other content throughout the internet. However, it does not have filters in place to only select peer-reviewed articles which may result in unreliable data. DePaul Scholars only pulls from databases with publications that have been peer-reviewed and may be a more accurate representation of a researcher’s work.
Google Scholar also does not offer a mechanism for sharing copies of all of your work (beyond the citation information). With DePaul Scholars, you have the control of and can share work that you own the copyright for, e.g. pre-prints, working papers, software or data related to a publication.
