Course Reserves

The DePaul University Libraries offer a full complement of delivery services for e-reserve and print reserve materials. Login to the Ares Course Reserve Request System with your Campus Connect to make activate courses for reserves and request items.  We have created a How to Get Started Using Ares Course Reserves Guide.  We'll pull, order, scan, or review copyright permissions as needed for the materials.

Material that is immediately accessible (i.e. owened by DePaul and not checked out) is usually available to students in 3 business days. If we need to order the material or recall it from a patron, it could take 2 weeks or more. Please be aware that there is a severe bottleneck of requests in the first week of classes; therefore, first-week requests should be submitted 30 days before the start of each Quarter.

If you have any questions, please contact the Course Reserves Contact for your department or school.

Digitization Requests

The DePaul University Libraries also coordinate the digitization of CDs or DVDs and the purchase of licenses to access streaming content for online, hybrid, or face-to-face courses. To request an item be digitized or licensed (for Swank Films only), login to Ares Course Reserves Request System, select your course, and choose the Streaming format from the available request options. Please be advised that it can take up to four weeks for material to be ordered and digitized if the library does not own a copy. The licensing of Swank films can take up to one week. Please visit the Swank Digitial Campus website for a list of available films.

If you have any questions, please contact the Course Reserves Contact for your department or school.
