Create an Account
Create a Zotero account to save items to your online library from any device. You can sync your online library with your desktop software to import citations saved to your online library.
Note: You must have an online account in order to create a shared group to collaborate with others.
Download Zotero for Your Desktop
Zotero has download options for Windows, macOS, Linux 32-bit, and Linux 64-bit. Follow the download instructions on the Zotero website.

Customize Zotero Settings
Zotero has the option to configure an OpenURL Resolver, which will search for a citation saved in your Zotero library in the DePaul Library Search. This will allow you to see if the Library has access to the full text of a citation that you have saved, but it will not index the full text into your Zotero library.
1. In your Zotero toolbar, select Edit --> Preferences.
2. When the toolbar window opens, select Advanced.
3. Near the bottom of the Advanced box, there is a line labeled Resolver. Type in this address into the line: https://resolver.library.
4. Select OK.
5. To use the feature, select an article in your Zotero library and click on the green arrow to the right of the Zotero search box.
6. Select Library Lookup from the menu.
7. A new window will open in your browser directing you to the record for the article in Library Search. If the article is available, you can click the 'Available Online' option to access the full text.
