  • Use lower-cost options (see next tab in LibGuide)
  • Use free resources - Academic; Government (see next tab in LibGuide)   
  • Make friends with your Librarian or Information Specialist
    • Ask for a Tour of the Library
    • Find print materials available to you - One Good Treatise (Smart Researchers Save Time by Starting with Legal Treatises by (Shawn G. Nevers) - may need to sign in w/Campus Connect ID & PW 
    • Find out which online materials are part of Overhead (i.e., already paid for by firm/office)
    • Ask if there is an Intranet and/or a Wiki
      • If so - how do you access it?
      • What is contained within it?
    • Ask if there is a Document Management System* (or a Work Product Retrieval Database)?

*A Document Management System is an in-house database of work already performed (i.e., model)

  • Make appts with your Westlaw, Lexis+ and Bloomberg Law representatives
  • When searching - create your search before logging in (to any fee-based databases)
