About this guide

This guide was developed by the DePaul University Library to support instruction librarians in using the Source + Beyond the Source evaluation framework. It provides a lesson plan, sample topics, slides and handouts and can be adapted for a standalone session on evaluating information or incorporated into a broader information literacy curriculum.

While some of the information here is specific to our institution, we're hopeful that the framework and supplemental materials we've developed can be used by others. Feel free to use and adapt anything on this guide in your own teaching. We just ask that you provide attribution for any content from this lesson plan that is distributed outside of the classroom, including on published Libguides, conference presentations, or papers.

If you do use the material, we'd love to hear from you about how it went!
