Students Against Incarceration Community Fest Guide: Special Collections and Archives

The Women, Writing and Incarceration Project records contain poetry and other writings created by women experiencing incarceration in various Illinois correctional facilities as part of DePaul University's Women, Writing and Incarceration Project. This collection also contains grant proposals, planning documents, course materials, and publicity related to the class, as well as writings by Ann Folwell Stanford, the professor who founded and taught the class.

Chicago area political activist and zine author, Anthony Rayson, enables incarcerated persons to publish and create zines which he distributes both to individuals and to prisons through his South Chicago ABC Zine Distro.

Sr. Helen Prejean is an advocate for death-row inmates and an opponent of the death penalty. Her papers include correspondence with death row inmates, records documenting her work with anti-death penalty organizations, and manuscripts drafts of her books: Dead Man Walking and The Death of Innocents.
