Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) leads the Association's commitment to diversity, inclusion and full and equal participation by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons in the Association, legal profession, and society.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee mission is to educate attorneys, judges, the Association, and members of the public about the law as it relates to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons.

Since 1989 has been the legal voice of the LGBTQ+ community, with over 1700 members is the largest LGBTQ+ bar and ally association in the country.

LAGBAC is one of the largest and most well-respected LGBTQ+ bar organizations in the country.  Its members include lawyers, judges and other elected officials, law students, and other legal professionals.  Since 1987, LAGBAC has united and strengthened the LGBTQ+ legal community and strives to promote the professional development of gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender legal professionals including law students.

Grant scholarships to Law Students and mentoring for students and young lawyers.
