Tips for Finding Books

Start your search for books with just a few keywords.

If your topic is World War I, you could type in:  France World War I

Use the facets on the left hand side to limit just to books, under "Resource Type"

When you find a book that you are interested in, check the listed Subjects for that book, and use those to find additional books on your topic.  Choose "Details" on the left and scroll down to find the Subject section:

In this case, you'll see that using the terms World War, 1914-1918 will provide better results than using the terms World War I.

What if DePaul doesn't have the book I need?

Interlibrary Loan          

Interlibrary Loan allows you to request materials beyond DePaul's holdings and beyond I-Share. 

Books can be requested online, and will be delivered to DePaul.

Delivery time for Interlibrary Loan generally takes longer than I-Share, and renewal periods are generally shorter.
