Law Technology

A survey of software useful for law students and lawyers, and tips to improve your productivity on programs you probably already use.

Introduction

This guide is intended for law students, to familiarize themselves with some of the software that they'll be using in legal practice. In addition, this guide is intended to give law students some tips on how to become more productive with programs they're already using. Trust the librarians - you may find these tools helpful right now, or you may want to get to know them later on, but if your practice requires their use later, its much easier in the long term to get used to them now!

If you have any questions on the information in this LibGuide, please don't hesitate to contact Ryan Marcotte, the law library's Reference, Instruction, & Scholarship Librarian!

LinkedIn Learning

While you are a DePaul student, you have access to an invaluable source of technology training, LinkedIn Learning, formerly called Lynda. LinkedIn Learning creates detailed video training courses, complete with exercise files to practice with, for a very wide array of programs. If you're ever in a position where you need to learn a new program, you should first check to see if a course on that program is available on LinkedIn Learning.
