Adding Ares to D2L

Ares course reserves can be added to any D2L course so that the reserves appear within the D2L course.  Using the option listed below will allow your students to access the reserves for the course they are viewing in D2L, without any additional login to Ares.  If you have any questions, or need assistance adding a link to your D2L course, please contact your FITS Liaison.

Making an Ares Quicklink as a New Topic

  1. Click Content on your course navigation bar.
  2. Go to the module in which you want to add a link to ARES (or create a new module if needed.)
  3. Click the Add Existing Activities button (A),

Then select External Learning Tools from the dropdown menu (B). The Add Activity window will open.

  1. Click E-Reserves. The window will close, and the E-Reserves link will appear as a topic in the module. Click the E-Reserves link. The E-Reserves page will open within your D2L course site.

  1. Select the appropriate term for your course on the Current Semester dropdown menu.
  2. Click the Create Course button. Your course's e-reserves account will now be active, and you can add materials to it.
