Adding Course Reserves Items to D2L

Course reserves can be added to any D2L course so that the reserves appear within the D2L course.  Using the option listed below will allow your students to access the reserves for the course they are viewing in D2L, without any additional login.  If you have any questions, or need assistance adding a link to your D2L course, please contact your CTL Liaison.

Adding Ares to a Course in D2L

  1. Select Content on the course navigation bar.
  2. Go to the module in which a link to ARES is to be added (or create a new module if needed.)
  3. Select Add Existing Activities [A].
  4. Select External Learning Tools from the dropdown menu [B].
  5. The Add Activity window will open. Select E-Reserves.
  6. The window will close, and the E-Reserves link will appear as a topic in the module. Select the E-Reserves link.
  7. The E-Reserves page will open within the D2L course site. Select the appropriate term for the course in the Choose a semester dropdown menu.
  8. Select Create Course. The course e-reserves account will now be active, and materials can be added to it. (See the ARES Course Reserves for Faculty guide for more information.)
